WH&E M1 2 : 1 Bedford M4

The men’s 1s returned to winning ways with a narrow win over mid-table rivals Bedford 4. Two goals in the first half, the first predictably came from Colin Foad, taking his tally for the season to 13; the second from Harry Stone, sliding in on his knees to sweep home from close range after the Bedford keeper partially stopped a penalty corner.

In the second half, Bedford pressed hard and got one back, and in an increasingly tetchy final few minutes the match looked like it could boil over. However, Winchmore held firm for a well-deserved 3 points.
