Ladies 1s win and lose, all in one weekend

Week 22: The ladies 1s had a point to prove today. We needed 3 points so we went out there and we got 3 points! Excellent goals from Chloe and Talyssa.

Highlights of today include:

  • Karen failing to see a ball directly in front of her in the warm up despite the whole team telling her
  • Bethany of course ending up on the floor, this time grazing her arm as well as her knee
  • Beth and Talyssa getting hit in the head within seconds of each other!
  • And finally…⭐️⭐️⭐️Chris Putt making an epic save of a penalty flick just to annoy the oppo even more!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️

Massive thanks to James, Lucky Charlotte and Lisa for their support and to Dominic and Chris M for their umpiring.
The win today keeps our hopes of safety alive!!! #onwardsandupwards #evengreaterescape

The ladies 1s failed to secure safety today in their second game of the weekend in a rearranged game against Staines. We just didn’t wake up in time to realise we were playing hockey until they scored! A lot more positive in the 2nd half and really unlucky about the final whistle going just as it seemed we were about to find the net!!!

We just need to keep the positivity. Led by the ever present Chris Putt who played outrageously well in goal. It’s just a shame we couldn’t help her out quick enough at the start! Shout out to Karen Goode for another excellently played game. You could hardly tell she had played yesterday.

In more important news we need to say huge thank you and well done to Abi for stepping up and making her 1st team debut today. You played awesome!!!
